Youth Games athletes were well acclimatised.
The 19 athletes that brought home a fantastic nine medals from the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India were certainly well prepared before their departure from Belfast. This is mainly due to the hours and weeks of practice and training that it takes for any athlete to compete at a high level, but credit must also go to the availability of the acclimatisation chamber at the University of Ulster's Jordanstown campus.
The athletes had their preparation camp at the university prior to jetting across the globe for the Games, a huge part of this weekend was allowing the athletes to get a chance to train in the chamber that can simulate humidity and temperatures of the Indian climate.
