Curtis made an impact last year at the England Athletics Championships were he placed 2nd over the 200m and he also ranked in the top 5 in the UK for his age over 800m. It was therefore not surprising that he focused on the 400m this season were he narrowly missed gaining an individual place for the World Junior Championships. He was however selected for the 4x400 relay for the World Juniors and was part of the team that set a new Irish junior record. Curtis has also been selected for the 200m were he is ranked in the top 3 in the UK for his age.
